This is a chicken cacciatore with a little twist on the flavor, and is really representative of the melting pot of flavors I experienced during my childhood. My mom, ever the Italian, made braised chicken with tomato. She also edited an amazing Indian cookbook that made her revise the chicken tomato combo and add hauntingly flavorful spices like cinnamon, which evokes the sweetness of the tomatoes.
