When I first moved to New York City in my late teens, I lived across the street from a restaurant called The Coffee Shop. Friends and I would spend hours there hanging out, watching people on the street walk by while enjoying the delicious Coconut Crisped Shrimp (that’s still on their menu to this day!) I wanted to share this special food memory with my kids, so I created this healthier version that opts for baking instead of frying. Click here to read more

New Orleans is famous for its fattier fare, but once in a while we Louisianians eat something simple like this beans and rice dish. Of course, back home it's often made with some kind of pork fat, but believe me it tastes just as terrific without it.

This recipe calls for a salt-free cajun spice blend. Click here for a recipe to make your own.

As the author of several successful cookbooks, Al Roker has perfected a few signature dishes.

While you can easily buy your valentine a bag of sweet tarts with cute sayings printed on them, why not go to the store, buy fresh ingredients and then make something special with your kids instead? Putting a spin on Pop-Tarts, one of my childhood favorites, I came up with the idea of these homemade Heart Tarts. They're filled with fresh raspberries and topped with pink icing that’s made with the juice from the raspberries instead of food coloring. Click here to read more from Catherine

The Kids Cook MondayShow your family love by breaking out the cookie cutters for this delicious pasta dinner. Kids will have fun making hearts out of mozzarella, but also learn how to use the cheese scraps left behind. The pink sauce recipe makes more than you’ll need for the tortelloni, so save leftovers to use for dipping, over pizza or any other time you need a tomato sauce. This recipe comes to us from Kristen Uhrenholdt of The Family Dinner blog and the great folks at The Kids Cook Monday.

I get really excited about the subject of leftovers. I’m not talking about re-serving your family cold, day-old food, I’m talking about re-inventing the dish you made on Monday and turning it into something completely new and exciting on Tuesday (and possibly even Wednesday too). This dish began with this recipe: Four-Bean Chili. If you're lucky enough to have leftovers, make these kid-friendly Baked Fries.

This is a 5-in-1 meal. Use leftovers from this Four-Bean Chili to make these Baked Fries, plus
