
The National Asparagus Festival is held every year during the second weekend of June in Oceana Country, Michigan. This sweet bread is one of the festival favorites. Move over zucchini, there's only room for one veggie in this town's bread!
Combine sugar, eggs and salad oil. Beat until creamy. Mix together flour, salt, soda and cinnamon. Add dry ingredients alternately with asparagus into creamy mixture. Stir in nutmeats. Pour into greased, 9x5 bread pan. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes or until done.
